Tim Kennedy was born and raised in North East Victoria. He completed a B.A. (Hons) and a M.A. (International Relations) at MonashUniversity, and a LLB (Hons) at La Trobe University.
Tim commenced working with the National Union of Workers (NUW) as an Industrial Officer in 1995. He has subsequently worked as both an Organiser and Industrial Officer for both the National Office and Victorian Branch of the Union. During this time he was responsible for industrial advocacy in industrial tribunals and negotiation of national collective agreements with major national and international corporations.
In 2003 Tim was elected to the office of Assistant National Secretary of the NUW. In 2010 Tim was elected to the office of Victorian Branch Secretary and also elected to be the National President of the Union.
In 2014 Tim was elected to the office of National Secretary of the NUW.
Tim is also the current Chair of LUCRF Super, the NUW’s industry superannuation fund.
